Alternative fuel vehicles.

Alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) offer fewer, less damaging emissions than petrol and diesel. Ford has been at the forefront of AFV research and technology for the past 40 years, and market vehicles which run on a wider range of alternative fuels than any other manufacturer’s. These include Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), methanol, ethanol and electricity.

LPG.

Liquified petroleum gas (LPG) is a widely available and increasingly popular clean vehicle fuel. Cost benefits, coupled with significant environmental advantages make LPG an effective and beneficial choice for fleet managers. There are currently over 1100 LPG outlets in the UK, offering widespread availability, with more opening every day.

LPG as a vehicle fuel emits 13% less carbon dioxide, 75% less nitrogen, 35% less hydrocarbons and 35% less carbon monoxide in comparison to petrol.
