Research firm NetValue have found that more than a third of UK households are now connected to the internet, making the figure around 12 million. In the EU, only Germany have more wired households, with 13 million. The main reason cited behind the massive online uptake is that employers are clamping down on surfing in the workplace, forcing people to connect at home.
