Radiohead stars to front ‘Big Ask Live’Monday 13 February 2006
Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood have been confirmed as the headline act at an exclusive concert in support of Friends of the Earth’s ‘Big Ask’ campaign. The London KOKO gig, taking place on 1st May, will be the main attraction of the ‘Big Ask Live’ event, designed to raise awareness of the climate change campaign.
The project was launched last year, and called on the Government to bring in a regulation to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 3% every year in order to tackle the issue as urgently as possible.
"The best thing about `The Big Ask' for me is the fact that there's no longer this sense of powerlessness, which is what I had for so long about climate change," said Thom Yorke.
The May show will be the first time the Radiohead singer and guitarist have played live in the UK for over a year. Other Big Ask Live events will be taking place around the country, involving big name British music acts.
