Public Vehicles

2005-02-28
Mass public transit vehicles play an important role in environmental preservation, as they offer an alternative to individual car use. Therefore, the introduction of alternative fuel to public vehicles is a positive step towards making a green form of transport even greener!

Environmentally friendly buses can run on either Autogas (LPG) or fuel cell technology. Both fuel forms significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions. The effort to cut emissions and air pollution is directly linked to the government’s commitment to the Kyoto treaty on climate change, and Local Agenda 21.

However, to make a positive impact, the scheme needs to be adopted by as many local councils as possible.
