Energy Efficiency

2001-08-28
As 25% of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions come from lost heat emitting from buildings, improved energy efficiency is a primary element of the UK Climate Change Programme, set out by the DETR. Such action is indicative of the seriousness of the problem.

Saving heat reduces energy bills and lowers harmful emissions. Methods of energy efficiency are numerous, and include; wall/loft insulation, window modification and boiler replacement, amongst others. Most energy efficiency building alterations will pay for themselves through the reduced energy bills they provide.

In order to stimulate positive action, The Energy Saving Trust currently offer grants (of varying proportion), towards building modifications.
