Professional Services2005-02-28 ISO 14001 is an environmental management system which enables companies and authorities to introduce and incorporate ecologically-friendly performance targets into their business. UK Accreditation Services (UKAS) approved external certifiers award ISO14001 to all organisations who comply with the standard. As well as ensuring that compliant organisations are regarding the environment to legislative accordance, ISO 14001 also reduces corporate costs by minimising energy use and waste production. The implementation of ISO 14001 should not be carried out merely to achieve certification, it should be seen as a progressive management process, which can be built on in future. |
