audio conferencing

2005-05-20
The environmental benefits of audio conferencing are numerous. Firstly, the availability of a high quality communication system negates the need to go on the road. The well-documented greenhouse emissions problems of road transport are one of the main priorities of the current government’s climate change policies, which involve the internationally recognised Kyoto Protocol. If all the business meetings in the UK were conducted via audio conferencing, the significant co2 problem from transport would be reduced. Secondly, audio conferencing requires a surprisingly small amount of equipment, ultimately keeping in line with another government led environmental initiative; the WEEE Directive.
