Cleaning

2005-02-28
When choosing cleaning services for your business, ensure the contractor uses the most environmentally friendly products. It is important to remember that no cleaning products, domestic or industrial, are entirely harmless to the environment. However, this should not lead to indiscriminate selection, as some products are far more harmful than others.

Chemical elements found in some cleaners, such as phosphates and chlorine, are unnecessarily damaging to the environment when safer alternatives are available, such as concentrates, which use smaller chemical volumes.

Avoid services who claim their products are ‘non-toxic’ or ‘biodegradable’ without further description. These terms are not legally defined, and are often used in the falsely, therefore offering no environmental benefit.
