Storage
2005-03-07 As with all furniture, storage units should comply with a few basic guidelines to be environmentally friendly. Firstly, the chemical content and emission levels of the unit need to be considered. A low level, or total absence of VOCs (volatile organic compounds), no CFCs (chlorofluorocarbons) and no HCFCs (hydrochlorofluorocarbons) would make a storage unit safe for both the user and the environment. Secondly, always find out if any good quality second hand furniture is available before you by new products, and in turn, sell your furniture on when unwanted. There is always someone who can use old furniture, and landfill should be considered is a last resort.
