Leather is an environmentally unfriendly, yet extremely popular material for seating covers. However, there is a quality alternative for which no animal has to die, in ‘eco-leather’. This material is made from 80% cotton and 20% synthetic micro-fibre. Eco-leather shares the same characteristics as ordinary leather, yet has many benefits. Colouring for instance is a much simpler process, and the material does not wear or flake over time. Perhaps the major benefit to consumers for eco-leather is the price; which is currently around 35% less than normal leather.
